Dear Families,
It was a pleasure to welcome our Junior School families to our first assembly of the term last Wednesday. This special gathering provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate student learning and to recognise and congratulate those students who achieved Champion and Runner-Up honours at our recent Cross Country Carnival.
You can find the full list of Cross Country results in the Junior School Sport section later in this newsletter.
Last week also saw our Year 5 students attend their two-night camp at Port Arthur and Blue Lagoon. This experience offers valuable opportunities for students to develop teamwork, build meaningful relationships with both peers and teachers, and strengthen their resilience and sense of responsibility. Throughout the camp, students challenged themselves with a range of activities that encouraged them to step beyond their comfort zones.

The teachers and I were incredibly proud of the students’ positive attitude and enthusiastic participation in all aspects of the camp. We hope they have returned with a strong sense of accomplishment, confidence and pride in what they achieved.
Dealing with our children’s conflict
Supporting our children through conflict at school can feel overwhelming as parents and knowing how best to respond and react isn’t always straightforward. Conflict is a natural part of life, and while it can be uncomfortable, it plays an important role in children’s growth. When we respond with calmness, empathy and consistency, we not only strengthen relationships but also model respectful communication, emotional regulation and problem-solving. In doing so, we help our children build resilience and develop the confidence to navigate challenges both now and in the future.

Please see the link below to our SchoolTV channel, which provides articles, videos and resources to help families best support their child through conflict.
Traffic reminder
A gentle reminder that the 'Hug and Go' zone on Harrington Street is a drop-off only area. This space is designated to help traffic flow safely and smoothly during busy times. It is important that cars do not park or wait in this zone. Using it as intended helps keep everyone safe and ensures all families can access the area quickly.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
