Religious Education

This Thursday week at 10:00am Sacred Heart students, families and parishioners are invited to celebrate a special All Saints/ All Souls day and Mission Day Mass at St Mary’s Church. Following Mass we are having our annual Mission Day Fete back at Sacred Heart School the money raised will help support the Catholic Mission.

Pope Francis, in his 2023 World Mission Sunday Message draws inspiration from the Gospel of Luke (cf. 24:13-35), recounting the story of the disciples on their journey to Emmaus. With the theme "Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move," Pope Francis reminds us that the missionary spirit resides within the hearts of all individuals. Inspired by Pope Francis's message Catholic Mission is inviting everyone this World Mission Month to celebrate together the work of Mission, as we partner with communities, helping them to flourish by supporting grassroots projects, including healthcare, education, and spiritual care.  (https://www.catholicmission.org.au/wearestillhere)

This may be the final reminder (Melbourne Cup Day next Tuesday) that Bishop Paul will be attending Mass at St Mary’s Church in Colac in less than two weeks time on Saturday November 11th at 6pm. This is a particularly memorable occasion for the 2023 Sacramental children. During Mass Bishop Paul will be giving a blessing to the children that received the Sacrament of Communion and Confirmation this year and we invite those children with their families and all the Sacred Heart School Community to attend.

An email has been sent out to the families inviting them to attend and to ensure that each child can be introduced to Bishop Paul by name as they receive a special blessing. We ask those that have received an email please reply to the email address below if you have not already done so.
