Student Achievements:
Congratulations to Minnie Clark and Poppy Clark who have been selected for the U15/16 full time soccer squad, such an amazing achievement! Minnie Clark has also been in Singapore this week for an international soccer tournament called Sing Cup. Minnie is travelling with the FSA Team alongside nine other countries. Well done!
Well done to Grace Marin and Elise Chenoweth for their outstanding performance at the All Schools Athletics Carnival. Despite facing tough competition, Grace achieved first place in U15 3000m walk and in U15 high jump, she impressively earned an equal second place. Elise won her 100m heat and recorded a new personal best. Congratulations to our talented athletes!
Swimming 2024
The SA Sport School Swimming Championships for 2024 (Years 7-12) are scheduled to take place on Monday 26 February 4:30 - 9:30pm. Before nominating a team, we wanted to seek expressions of interest to ensure we have sufficient numbers to compete. This event will occur before our Loreto Swimming Carnival. Therefore, we will finalise our entries based on this expression of interest and last year's results.
We will also have our Loreto Swimming Carnival (Years 7-12) in March, and we will be competing in the Catholic School Championships (Years 7-12) on Monday 8th May.
If you daughter is a strong swimmer and has a keen interest in taking part in the SA Sport School Swimming Championships, please complete this form no later than Monday 13th November 2023. It is important to note that completing this form does not guarantee a position in the squad.

Athletics Carnival
Well done to Loreto’s junior school athletics team who came 2nd at last week’s Catholic Schools Carnival.
There were a number of standout performances. Some of the highlights:
Mia Frearson-Lea (Year 5) and Everly Weekley (Year 4) not only won their respective high jump events, but actually broke the all-time carnival records! Mia jumped a personal best of 1.32 metres while Everly cleared 1.20 metres. Congratulations girls!
Sofia competed in the pentathlon, placed in several of the events and came second overall.
Collette picked up 1st place in the Year 4 shot put.
With a few students away injured or ill, it was fantastic to see a number girls put up their hands to enter unfamiliar events. Beatrice had never competed in shot put before but was happy to give it a go. Anything to help the school. Oh, and she won it! Charlotte Holland was a late addition to the long jump… and won!
Marnie returned from Europe on the morning of the race. She estimated that she had slept one hour out of the previous 41 hours but fronted up anyway. On autopilot, surviving pretty much on willpower and airline peanuts, she somehow won the 1500m!
The school spirit was typified by Matilda, who had a tough start to the day, unable to finish the 800m due to a knee injury. As she lay on the track in some pain, a stampede of concerned Loreto students exited the grandstand and rushed across the track to check on her welfare. The mob of helpers carried her back to our seats, providing drinks and support. It wasn’t great to see Matilda hurt but it was heart-warming to see the response of her school mates! A trip to the first aid tent, some ice and a fried chicken snack box from mum got Matilda going again and she amazingly won the 1500m just a couple of hours later.
Well done to all students who competed!
