The Best Version of You

As Term 4 races through and the demands and expectations come thick and fast, with the end of the year rapidly approaching. It is timely to be reminded about what we will always strive the be and that is a Virgilian. As Virgilians we aim to challenge ourselves and live up to example of Blessed Edmund Rice. People will see our values in our deeds.

We should never lose focus of supporting one another and looking out for one another during busy times. This is something we has been reflected in our Speak Up Stay ChatTY sessions with our Year 9s this week.

Exams

As the Year 11 are in the thick of their exams at the moment, I would like to commend them on their approach. It has been great to see many students throughout SWOTVAC on site preparing for exams and seeking feedback and assistance from teachers. It has been a real testament to the adult learner we are experiencing here at the College.

As the Year 10 commence their exams next Monday we have provided ample support to provide the best platform for students to achieve their best. However, it is down to the attitude and effort one applies. It is my firm belief that the response to any difficult situation reflects ones true character. An exam is yet another opportunity which tests our character and how we respond. What is your approach when things get tough? Do you give up because it’s not easy or do you put in more effort because it’s just needed. Our exams will take place within our new Doyle Wing for the first time, a great facility we now have access to. With students going home at the conclusion of each day to prepare for further study. I wish all of our young men all the very best for this upcoming period.
