Term 3 has been full of dancing in the Music Room.

All Year levels have, or are in, the process of completing their Portfolio Tasks, which included learning some classic dances such as, The Chicken Dance, The Mexican Hat Dance, The Macarena, The Nutbush, The Heel & Toe Polka, the Bus Stop and many more.

The Year 5’s and 6’s started creating their own dances for their portfolio tasks. After revising some well know classic dances earlier in the term, they broke into small groups and are choreographing short performances to a song of their choice. So far, they’ve all demonstrated fantastic collaborative ability and should be proud of their work.

The Year 3’s and 4’s are currently creating their own ‘Name Dances’ in small groups and our Year 1’s and 2’s are planning and rehearsing their own basic dances as well. Our Foundation students are continuing to explore movement to beat and rhythm as they familiarise themselves with a variety of junior primary level dances.

All year levels have continued to familiarise themselves with the notes of the treble clef to ensure they don’t forget this important part of music theory.

Both the Senior and Junior Choirs have enjoyed the opportunity to attend regular rehearsals and several performances at our assemblies. Before we know it, we’ll be getting ready for our Christmas Carols Concert (Wednesday, 4 December) in what should be another fun-filled, action-packed Term Four of learning.

Thanks,
