Wellbeing

In our wellbeing groups, we have been focusing on Self Control and Integrity. For our Prep to Year 2 students, we introduced the Traffic Light System as a tool to help them develop self-control. This system guides them through a three-step process: "Stop" to pause and recognize their feelings, "Think" about their options and the consequences, and "Go" by choosing a thoughtful response. This approach supports early emotional regulation and decision-making skills.

For our Years 3 to 6 students, the focus has been on cultivating integrity. By engaging them in discussions and activities that explore the importance of honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical behaviour. By examining real-life scenarios and reflecting on their own experiences, students learn to apply these principles in their daily interactions.

Students are grasping these concepts really well. The Traffic Light System has become a familiar and effective tool for our younger students, who are more frequently demonstrating improved self-regulation and thoughtful decision-making in their interactions. Meanwhile, our older students have shown a deep understanding of integrity, often sharing reflections on how they apply these values in their daily lives.
