From the Principal

Dear Parents and Friends,

We have had a very busy week at school. Students have undertaken numerous learning tasks and have had lots of fun! Please take note of the upcoming events on the attached calendar.

School Concert

Yesterday students took part in a whole school rehearsal for our upcoming concert. This gave them a chance to see the scenes that are performed by other classes and to practise their own dances and scripts. Tickets for the concert will go on sale in week 9 of this term. Please make sure you have Wednesday 23 October from 6pm noted in your calendar.

Wellbeing Day

Last Friday students took part in a Wellbeing Day that involved them participating in a number of activities. These activities involved teamwork, communication skills, sharing and fun. Thanks to our Wellbeing Leaders and Mrs Sollecito for organising this event. Students had lots of fun. They had the option of wearing casual clothes this day and making a donation to the Flames of Love Orphanage in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The total raised for this charity on Friday was $342. Further photos of this event on the Wellbeing page.

Raffle

At the end of our assembly last week the Parents' Association raffle was drawn. This created great excitement amongst students. Most prizes were donated by local businesses and over $3800 was raised. All of this money will be utilised to support the installation of a new senior playground which will occur early Term 4. Thanks to all those in the Parents' Association for organising this. Well done!

Father's Day Stall

Thank you to our Parents Association for once again organising our Father's Day stall on Tuesday. This provided all students with an opportunity to purchase a gift for dad, grandad or special friend. These types of events really do make a big difference to the students.

Dad's Night Out

Calling all dads. Please put Friday 13th September, 6:30pm in your calendar. Come and join a group of St. Christopher's dads, grandfathers or special friends for dinner and/or drinks (at bar prices). This event will be held at the Rogue Squire in Wheelers Hill. Please RSVP to principal@scsyndal.catholic.edu.au by Friday 6th September.

School Closure Day

Please note that Friday 13 September will be a school closure day. No classes will run on this day. If you require Camp Australia Care for this day, please register.

Mass

Tomorrow our whole school will take part in a whole school mass to celebrate Fathers' Day which is this Sunday. All welcome to attend at 9:15am in the church.

Hot Chocolate Day

Today students enjoyed a free hot chocolate from our Parents' Association. This was a special treat and and something that students get very excited about. A special thanks to Kristine Zhao (Makayla -Prep, Gabby - Year 2) for organising and running this event and to Rachel, Dilini and Natalie for assisting.

Assembly

Our assembly tomorrow will be hosted by 1/2A and include Students of the Week; 3pm in the hall - all welcome.

Parking

To help avoid congestion on the school site at pick up time, please consider parking in Tambo Court and walking across the oval. This may work for some families and allow for a quicker departure from school.

Annual Report

The school's annual report can be found on our website or the link here.

If you have any concerns regarding your child, please see their teacher or myself.

Enjoy the weekend
