3/4 Term 3 Highlights

Term 3 has been a busy term! Here are some of our highlights.

Ivy - Wakakirri was a very fun experience. On the day we watched other schools practice, we also had two run throughs with hair, makeup and costumes on. I was one of the fairies, a main part with Kirra and Zara. Then it was show time! To wish the other schools good luck we said “CHOOKAS”. We were second last on the stage. It was so fun! After that we went back, got changed and watched the last school’s performance. Wakkakirri was my Term 3 Highlight. 

Maggie - The MCG was my Term 3 highlight because we got to go into the Collingwood locker rooms where Nick Daicos and every other Collingwood player has sat. We also got to touch the Grass of the MCG. Ivy and I took some grass and put it in our pockets. I love Collingwood and the MCG.

Heidi - My Term 3 highlight was when all 25 of the Wakakirri performers travelled to Frankston Arts Centre for our performance day. We got there at 1:30, got dressed into our costumes and started to practice. A few hours later we were ready to perform on Stage to the audience. It was a long night but fun performing with my friends. We have practiced every Tuesday at lunchtime all year. 

Chloe G - This term I liked book week because we did fun activities. I also enjoyed sewing in Art because I liked making love hearts.

Flynn - One of my term 3 highlights was going to the MCG because we had a tour and got to go inside the Hawthorn Clubrooms and we sang the Hawthorn song. Another one of my highlights was athletics day, it was really fun but challenging at the same time.

Gus - My term 3 highlight was when 3/4 went to the MCG. I loved it because we got to go into the changerooms of the AFL players. We went into Hawthorn and Collingwood’s change rooms. It was fun!

Henry - My term 3 highlights were doing lawn bowls, going to the MCG with Mr Whelan and the Mini Olympics. I liked doing the Mini Olympics because it was fun and sporty. I liked going to the MCG with Mr Whelan because we got to touch the grass, go into the changer ooms and we also got footy cards. I liked doing lawn bowls because I liked learning a new sport. It was really fun.

Isabella - My term 3 highlights was Wakakirri. I loved Wakakirri because it was a great experience and we won the Spirit Award! Another highlight was our excursion to the MCG. My favourite part of the trip was getting to go onto the field and also to run down the runway screaming your football team name. We went into the Hawthorn and Collingwood change rooms. It was awesome. 

Frankie - My term 3 highlights have been Wakakirri because we got to perform a dance we have been practising for months, every Tuesday at lunchtime. Another Highlight was going to the MCG because it was fun doing the games in Game On and meeting an Olympian. My last highlight was Athletics Day. I loved doing the races all day. I am now going to district Athletics. 

Billie - In term 3 I loved Wakakirri because we got to go on stage and dance in front of a lot of people. We practised every week. I was a step sister, a main character in the performance. I also liked going to the MCG because we went into the club rooms and looked at all the different rooms that I didn’t know about. In the MCG library we had to guess how old a book was. 

Winnie - My term 3 highlights have been Book Week, because my mum came to the parade and saw my cool outfit. I have also enjoyed sewing in Art because it was fun and I was good at it. 

Chloe G - My term 3 highlights have been Book Week and sewing in Art. I enjoyed the Book Week fun activities and making hearts in sewing.

Dallas- My term 3 highlights have been the MCG, because it was my first time that I have been there, the Athletics day because I came first in hurdles and 100m sprint. Finally was the Science Incursion because we got to watch experiments.

Alex-  My term 3 highlights were when we went to the MCG, because we went to go on the ground and in the museum we played fun games and looked at famous athletes' uniforms and medals.

Pia- My term 3 highlights was Wakakirri. It was so much fun, we could finally perform our dance that we had been practicing for a whole term. Wakakirri started at 7pm and finished at 8.50pm. My favourite  part was dinner, we had McDonalds. It was delicious. We sat and watched other school’s performances  on the back screen, in the jungle. When it was our turn to perform, we had so much fun dancing around.

James - My term 3 highlights includes the MCG tour because I have been getting more interested in the AFL this season and we also got to go into the Collingwood and Hawthorn rooms. After that we got to go on to the oval behind the boundary line. We also went to the exclusive library.

Another highlight of mine was the Athletics Day. I like being competitive against my friends and other people. I got ribbons and house points for my house team Mazenod.

Finally the Mad about Science incursion was another highlight because science is my favourite subject in learning.

Patrick -  My term 3 highlight was going to the MCG, because we got to touch the grass and go into the Collingwood and Hawthorn rooms.

Another highlight was Athletics Day because I really like running and I won discus and the 1500m running. It was the best.

Gus-  My term 3 highlight was when we went to the MCG. I loved it because we got to go into the change of Collingwood and Hawthorn, it was so fun.

Zara B - My term 3 highlights are Wakakirri because it was fun and a new experience. I also enjoyed Lawn Bowls because it had some competition and was exciting. My third highlight was the Mini Olympics. I was Malaysian and brought in pandan desserts to share. 

Hazel - My term 3 highlights have been Mini Olympics Day because we learnt about the Olympics. The MCG was another highlight because we learnt about the cricket they used to play there. Book week was also a highlight because we did lots of fun activities. 

Emme - My term 3 highlights have to be Wakakirri because it was super fun going to Frankson and doing the rehearsals with getting feedback on our dance routine. Another highlight was going to the MCG and my favourite fact that I learnt there was after the Taylor Swift concert, to replace the grass it cost 4 Million dollars! 

Zara A - My term 3 highlight was Wakakirri. I loved being able to perform in something that I am passionate about. I was one of the Fairies, that was a main character. On Thursday the 22nd of August we had our rehearsal and show day. We performed at the Frankston Arts Center with other schools. When we got there we were taken into the Jungle where we got into our costumes. We did two full dress rehearsals. After our McDonalds dinner the countdown for show time was on. They counted in minute blocks; 3, 2, 1! Welcome to Wakakirri! We had a dance party on the countdown. When it was our turn to perform we did amazing and it was the best experience! 

Alaaky - My term 3 highlight was going to the MCG because I got to meet an Olympian, touch the footy field and go into the club rooms. It was so fun. 

Hugo - This term I really enjoyed the Exploring Maths night because we taught our parents how to solve equations. 

Ryan - My term 3 highlights were our excursion to the MCG because we got to go to the Game On, this is a place in the MCG. We got to touch the footy ground too, it was awesome! 

William - My term 3 highlights have been when we went to the MCG. We touched the ground, went into the club rooms and the MCG library. This has been a highlight of the year! Another highlight was making my First Holy Communion, now every time I go to church I can eat the bread. 

This term I dressed up for Olympics day as Australia wearing the Sydney Olympics jumper. For Book Week I dressed up as a character from the 13 Story Treehouse. 

Flynn - My term 3 highlights include the excursion to the MCG because we got a tour of the MCG. We went into the Hawthorn club rooms and sung the song. Another highlight was Athletics Day. It was really fun but challenging at the same time. I got two seconds and two thirds. I also enjoyed the Mad About Science incursion because James did some science tricks. He got a tea bag, burnt the top of the tea bag and the air inside made it fly. 

Max - My two term 3 highlights are the excursion to the MCG and the Mini Olympics. At the MCG we got a tour of the MCG and for the Mini Olympics we researched a country that was competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics. 

Vesper - My term 3 highlights were Wakakirri because it was fun and a good competition. Another highlight was discus, where I came second. My last highlight was dressing up as Charlotte’s Web for Book Week. 

Ace - My term 3 highlights were Athletics day and Lawn bowls. I love the thrill of athletics. I enjoyed trying a sport, I have never done before when I went to Lawn Bowls. 

Amelia - In term 3 I enjoyed Wakakirri because I got to dance with my friends and have a great time. I also enjoyed dressing up for Book Week. 

Kirra - My term 3 highlight was Wakakirri because it was a good experience for everyone. Everyone looked amazing and it was so exciting to be a part of our team. Our school performed Cinderella. I was a fairy with Zara A and Ivy. “Chookas” is a word you can use to give others good luck, you can also make a W with your hands to represent Wakakirri. We won the spirit award. It was so fun!

Oliver - This term my highlights have been Athletics day when I fell over and swallowed grass, it felt disgusting! My other highlight was when we went to the MCG. 

Charlie M - My term 3 highlights have been Athletics day, it was really fun but challenging and competitive. I got five first places and one third place. I also enjoyed the Mini Olympics. We did fun activities like drawing and sport, I also like hanging out with my 5/6 friends. Another highlight was making my First Eucharist because I could finally find out what the bread tasted like. We also got to try the wine, it had a strong taste to it.

Indiana - My term 3 highlights have been Lawn Bowls because we got to learn the game and it is a fun game to play. Another highlight was Book Week making the scratch art and dressing up as Mirabel from Encanto. I am also enjoying reading. We are reading a book called Wandi. It is a true story about a dingo cub taken from his family. 

Otis - My term 3 highlights are going to the MCG tour. I loved it because we got to go onto the ground and I also took some grass from the field, it is still in my room! I also enjoyed the museum which had cricket and olympic displays and had would you rather questions at each display. We also visited the Game On center where there was a rock wall and you could play interactive sports games. 

Chloe L - My term 3 highlights were Wakakirri because it was so much fun I nearly screamed! I also enjoyed Grandparent's Day because I love seeing my Grandad, he’s the best! Another highlight was going to the MCG where I learnt more about cricket and football. 

Billy M - My term 3 highlights were Athletics Day because I love sports and it's fitness involved. It is also fun to catch up and compete with my friends. Another highlight was the Mini Olympics. I found Book Week interesting because everyone dressed up and I thought it was cool and interesting to see all the costumes. 

Malakai - My term 3 highlights have been going to the MCG because we got to meet an Olympian. Book Week because we got to dress up as a book character. Athletics Day because we got to do different sports. Another highlight was Rugby day because I love rugby. 

Myles - My term 3 highlight was Athletics Day because it was so much fun. Another highlight was going to the MCG because I got to see an Olympian. I also enjoyed Lawn Bowls because it was fun to play as a team.
