Principal's Report
And just like that Term 3 is over! I can't believe I’m writing an end of term newsletter article already. It feels like only a short time since I talked about the importance of this term and the build up to the end of the year for all of our students.
Through a term packed with Parent Teacher Conferences, Curriculum Days, SACs, SATs, and Learning Tasks we have seen our students and community grow in a number of ways.
Interact’s First Ever Community Week!
We held our first ever Community Week. The students of the Interact Club created a whole week to engage their peers with the local and wider community and we had a great week celebrating all of the services and opportunities that Wyndham can offer our students as well as activities that helped our students connect with each other. This student-led, student planned and student-driven week was the first ever at Tarneit and showed the entrepreneurship of our students in not only conceiving the project but also in recruiting staff and students to support all of the activities. It was a pleasure to see members of our wider Wyndham community engaged in activities with our students.
R U OK? Week
Last week we celebrated R U OK? Day with a week of activities. Thursday 12th September was R U OK? Day and it was important that messages of support, friendship and inclusion were shared amongst the community. It was great seeing a range of activities that had the students supporting each other and further our community and appreciation of one another.
Approaching End Of Year Exams
As we approach the 2024 VCE end-of-year exams, it's crucial for students to establish effective study habits that will support their success. Consistent study routines not only reduce stress but also enhance long-term retention and understanding of key concepts. Families play an essential role in creating a supportive learning environment at home. Encouraging a quiet, organised study space, regular study times, and balanced breaks can make a significant difference. Websites like ATAR Notes and VCAA offer valuable resources, including past exams and study guides, to help students prepare effectively. By working together, we can ensure our students are set up for success as they navigate this critical period in their academic journey.
