🤝 Students can receive support from teachers if needed

Participation is voluntary – students can choose not to participate or withdraw at any time

🔒 All responses are confidential and de-identified, with results reported only at a group level

If you do not wish for your child to participate, please contact the school and discuss this with your child. An alternative activity will be provided during the survey session.

Balmoral Students Honour ANZAC Spirit at City Service

On Thursday 23rd April, Balmoral State High School captains and cadets had the privilege of attending the ANZAC Service for Students in the city, joining with schools from across Brisbane to honour the service, courage and sacrifice of Australian service men and women.

The service provided students with an important opportunity to pause, reflect and deepen their understanding of the significance of ANZAC Day. Through commemorative readings, music, wreath laying and moments of quiet reflection, students were reminded that ANZAC Day is not only about remembering those who served in the past, but also about recognising the ongoing contribution of current serving members, veterans, peacekeepers and their families.

Our students represented Balmoral State High School with pride and respect throughout the service. Their conduct reflected the values of our school community and demonstrated a sincere appreciation for the importance of remembrance.

Attending the city service also allowed students to connect their classroom learning with a meaningful public act of commemoration. It was a powerful reminder that the ANZAC legacy continues through the way young people learn, remember and carry forward stories of service, sacrifice, mateship and resilience.

We thank the staff who supported students to attend this important event and acknowledge our students for the respectful way they represented Balmoral State High School. As a school community, we remain committed to honouring the ANZAC tradition and ensuring these stories continue to be remembered by future generations.

Year 7 Round 2 Debating Update

Last night our two Year 7 teams were challenged to their very first short prep debate! In a short prep debate, teams only have one hour to prepare. Their topic was "that households should be limited to the use of one car" and both teams were negative. Unfortunately 7.1 were unsuccessful against St Laurie's 7.2, however 7.2 were victorious against St Laurie's 7.1. We are incredibly proud of all their efforts.
