Principal's Message

Hi Everyone,

As we head into the final stretch of the term, it’s hard to believe we have just five days remaining. It has been a busy and productive term, with many highlights across the school, and we are incredibly proud of the effort and achievements of all our students.  It’s amazing how quickly this year is flying by!

Leadership Conference

It was fantastic to attend the Student Leadership Conference ‘Dream and Lead’ with our 32 Grade 6 student leaders, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 18th March. Throughout the day students participated in activities that were aimed at developing their problem-solving skills and increasing their confidence and independence, with a leadership focus.

2027 Prep Tours & Enrolments

We have certainly been busy, with over 60 school tours booked in this term!

If you have a child starting at MEPS next year, please email the office at mooroolbark.east.ps@education.vic.gov.au and our admin team will add you to our list of anticipated enrolments and provide enrolment information.

If you have friends or family considering enrolling their child in Prep for 2027, we encourage them to contact the school as soon as possible to secure a place on one of our tours.

Enrolment forms can be collected from the office or, if preferred, online enrolment applications will open from Monday 20th April via the following link:

Easter Raffle

Our Easter Raffle will be held next Wednesday 1st April at 2:50pm in the stadium. This is always a highlight on the school calendar, full of fun and excitement, and creates a wonderful atmosphere as we head into the Easter holidays.

New Furniture

We are continuing to work through the building and grounds survey that you all voted on last year. As part of this, we installed a new speaker system and screen in the stadium last year. This year we are excited to announce that we have purchased new student desks, tubs, and chairs for all classes from Grades 3 - 6. After auditing all existing furniture, this was identified as our highest priority. The new furniture will be delivered on the first day of Term 2, which is a curriculum day, making it an exciting start for our students when they return on Tuesday 21st April.

All current student furniture will be moved to the car park and offered to the community. If you would like chairs or tables, please feel free to help yourself from Thursday 2nd April at 4pm, through to Wednesday 8th April. Gates will be locked after Wednesday for security reasons.

Twilight Sports

A reminder that Twilight Sports will be held next Wednesday 1st April. The weather is looking beautiful! This promises to be a fantastic evening for the whole community to come together and enjoy. A huge thank you to Mr Stephens for his dedication in organising the event and training our students to ensure the event is a great success.

Toilets

These are really starting to take shape! We are well ahead of schedule, and the plan is for them to be ready for students within the first two weeks of next term, fingers crossed it might even be sooner!
