Family BBQ and Colour Run

Celebrating Community at ARPS

Community is at the heart of everything we do at ARPS. In a school setting, community means a supportive network where families, educators, and students come together to create a positive and inclusive environment. It’s about shared responsibility, open communication, and mutual respect, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported in their learning journey.

On Wednesday night, we saw the ARPS community spirit shining brightly at our Family BBQ. Despite the rain, the sun came out just in time for the festivities to commence. The school grounds became a sea of colour, with the Colour Run bringing laughter and excitement as students dashed through clouds of vibrant powder. Faces lit up, some quite literally with beautiful face painting, and families gathered to share a meal, enjoying a classic sausage sizzle, a refreshing drink, and, for many, a delicious ice cream to cool off.

Perhaps the most wonderful sight of all was the simple joy of connection, families chatting, children playing, and friendships growing. The sense of belonging and togetherness was truly heartwarming, reminding us all of the strength and warmth of our ARPS community.

Our community spirit extends beyond events, like the BBQ, and we see it alive every Wednesday through our parent group and playgroup. These programs offer parents and caregivers a wonderful opportunity to connect, share, and support one another, building relationships that strengthen our school’s foundation. Through these groups, we’re able to welcome new families, provide support to those who need it, and ensure that everyone feels part of our ARPS family.

As we reflect on all the ways we come together as a community, I invite you to think: What does community mean to you?

Connected, supported, thriving.
