Assessment, Reporting and Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences

As we conclude Term 1 and our assessment period, we encourage parents to engage with their children by asking how they felt about their Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) or School Assessed Coursework (SACs). These conversations can provide valuable insights into their learning experiences and highlight areas where they may need additional support.

Assessment Results on Compass

Results for CATs and SACs will be available on Compass by the start of next term. In addition to these results, parents will be able to view a descriptor detailing their child’s completion of tasks, effort, and behaviour. This will help guide conversations that take place during our Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences that are taking place on Thursday 1st May.

Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences

We invite all parents and students to attend our Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, 1st May. Please note that regular classes will be cancelled on this day, as we dedicate time to these important meetings.

This is a great opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to discuss progress, identify areas for improvement, and set goals for Term 2. These conferences will be available both online and in-person, allowing families to choose the format that best suits their needs. More details, including booking instructions via Compass, will be provided at the beginning of next term.

We appreciate your continued involvement in your child’s learning journey and look forward to productive discussions at the upcoming conferences.

Professional Learning with Bronwyn Ryrie Jones

On our Curriculum Day (1st April), our teaching staff participated in a full day of professional learning led by Bronwyn Ryrie Jones. The focus was on strategies for responsive teaching, ensuring that we continue to adapt our approaches to meet the diverse needs of our students. This professional development will help refine our teaching practices to provide even more effective support to our learners.

Celebrating Great Teaching and Learning in Term 1Term 1 has been filled with outstanding teaching and learning experiences. Our Year 7 and 8 students have showcased their creativity and confidence through engaging drama performances, while our class rock band ensembles have brought energy and excitement to our music program. In English, some of our students participated in a poetry incursion alongside our local primary school, fostering collaboration and a love for literature. These are just a few examples of the fantastic work happening in our classrooms, and we look forward to building on this momentum in Term 2.
