Dear Parents,

This week we celebrate Catholic Education week and highlight all of the wonderful strengths of our Catholic system. Catholic Education focusses on the education of the whole child ensuring every student flourishes.

Innovative research using the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey data has found that people who attended Catholic schools are likely to see lifelong benefits in employment status, general health and life satisfaction.

The research found that on average, there are both personal and community benefits of Catholic schooling. People who attended Catholic schools are on average more likely to be employed, and to earn higher wages, than government school attendees. The average wage difference ranges between four per cent to 11 per cent. In addition, Catholic school attendees are more likely to work in an industry or sector that directly benefits the public and were more likely to donate to charity. The report also found that Catholic school attendance had a positive average impact on personal health and life satisfaction scores.

We celebrate this amazing news with our Twilight open night this Wednesday night from 5pm- 6.30pm. On this night we will showcase our school and all of the wonderful things we offer to families. Please invite any family, friends or prospective parents to come along. Light refreshments will be served in the CAFE.

This week we also celebrate St Joseph’s Day. St Joseph is a special role model in our school and our patron saint. We look to St Joseph to guide our beautiful school and thank him and all of our wonderful male staff for being such great role models to our students.

We will celebrate on Friday 21st March with St Joseph's day house spirit afternoon. All parents are welcome to come along Friday afternoon at 2.45pm.

School leaders will attend the St Patrick’s day mass and concert in the city with Mrs Colliver on this day.

We congratulate the following students who will be making the Sacrament of  Reconciliation this Wednesday at St. Peter’s in Shoreham. Mia Fiducia, Kai Wilkins, Savannah Taylor,  Marli Burgess, Louis Smith, Maisie Reardon and Eddie Saunders

We also congratulate Kai and Harper Wilkins on their Baptism yesterday.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
