Year 12 Residential Study Camp at Ormond College
The Year 12 cohort recently had the opportunity to attend a two-day residential study camp at Ormond College, located in the heart of Melbourne. Despite the challenging 40-degree heat, students persevered and made the most of this enriching experience.
During our time at Ormond College, we were fortunate enough to hear from several inspiring guest speakers, including renowned figures like Alan Richardson and Grieg Ward. They shared valuable insights on goal-setting, personal growth, and how to navigate the challenges that lie ahead as we approach the final stages of our schooling journey. Their presentations sparked engaging conversations and gave us practical advice for the year ahead.
On the second day, we ventured out to the University of Melbourne, where we had the chance to explore the campus and get a glimpse of university life. This excursion helped many of us reflect on the future and the possibilities that lie ahead after graduation.
A unique and reflective activity during the camp involved writing letters to ourselves, setting personal goals and aspirations for the remainder of the year. These letters will be a reminder of the hard work and determination required to finish the school year strong.
Despite the extreme heat, the camp was a great success, and it provided us with both the tools and motivation to tackle the challenges of Year 12 with renewed energy and focus.
We are grateful for this opportunity and the lessons we took away from both the speakers and the experiences shared.
