Principal's Report
I warmly welcome all students and families, returning and new, to our first newsletter for the 2025 school year. Staff have been working together to ensure that it is an exciting year of learning, focusing on learning growth for every individual, along with genuine voice and agency to maximise opportunities within and beyond the classroom.
Thank you to students and staff for working very well together to ensure a smooth and pleasant start to the school year, including two successful orientation camps. Thank you also to families for ensuring that students began school in full uniform and with the required materials for learning.
Congratulations to our Year 12 students and their coordinators for an enjoyable and cohesive Year 12 Camp, held at Melbourne University in oppressive heat, without air conditioning. Your commitment and teamwork are a credit to you. I would also like to extend a sincere thank you to several of our alumni who are very successful in their chosen fields and gave of their time to speak with the students about their experiences within the world of study and work, including their motivations, obstacles, and resilience. Your presentations were inspirational.
All the alumni who worked with our students offered their time willingly and free of charge, some who could have sought in excess of $5000 for their presentation.
It is wonderful to see our alumni, ranging from the school’s first intake to 2024 graduates, wishing to remain connected and contribute to our community so that our students can grow and excel.
Our 2024 Year 12 Cohort is to be congratulated for their application to their studies and strong achievement. Our Dux attained an ATAR of 97.84 and received a scholarship to study at Melbourne University, whist the median study score across the cohort was 30, with many students receiving university placements across the VCE and VCE Vocational Major cohort, along with apprenticeships and further study at various TAFE providers.
Congratulations to all within the class of 2024.
Our Year 7 students worked very well with each other and their teachers as they worked through a series of team activities and personal triumphs during our Year 7 Orientation Camp at Camp Rumbug, near Foster.
Students challenged themselves throughout a series of physical and cognitive challenges through participation and positive interactions, and were a credit to themselves, and our college.
As we continue to build our student voice and agency in learning and college culture, I’d like to congratulate and introduce our key College Student Leaders. Their successful selection followed a 3-stage process, that involved addressing the community at assembly highlighting their motivation and potential contributions to the school, voting by students and staff where all received sound endorsement, and an interview with the executive team.
Congratulations to:
The College Annual General Meeting will be held at the College on Tuesday 25 March 7pm. Thank you to those who have submitted application forms to join College Council in 2025.
I look forward to working closely with all members of the College for another successful year.
