Engagement & Wellbeing

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:

In Prep Floyd this week in Respectful Relationships, we have been learning about building strengths through playing cooperative games. We played a version of ‘Simon Says’ and a game called ‘The Magpie Game’ where we had to work with a partner to find things in our classroom. Afterwards, we spoke about what we needed to do to play the games well, what skills we need to work well with friends and what makes it easy or tricky to listen.

We decided that to be able to work with our friends we need to :

  • Be kind
  • Listen to our partner
  • Help each other
  • Work together.

And that when we do the below things it makes it easier to listen in the classroom:

  • Focus on what the teacher or person is doing and what they are telling me to do
  • Listen with our ears
  • Make my eyes watch the teacher
  • Say “stop it I don’t like it” when other people are talking around me.

SWPBS

Its amazing to think that its already week 8! That means that we will be announcing our Term 1 Whole School Reward at Friday's assembly. Just a reminder that our Level 1 reward is playing hide and seek across the whole school and Level 2 was a visit to Parky's Playground.

Class Rewards

It's great to hear about so many classes enjoying SWPBS Class Rewards together. Some popular rewards have been Zooper Doopers and class out of uniform days. These rewards at a class level help to build a sense of community within our classrooms through a shared achievement that all students are responsible for and can enjoy.
