The Voyage:
Celebrating Checkpoint 2 with Families
We were delighted to celebrate the start of the Voyage program with Year 9s and their families here at Endeavour last week.
Voyage is unique to the Year 9 Health and Physical Education curriculum and is a program that is designed to support students in their transition from adolescence to adulthood. It aims to provide opportunities for our students to develop important life skills, emotional resilience, and self-awareness. Throughout the program, students explore their identity, relationships, and personal responsibilities. The Voyage encourages students to take on challenges, set meaningful goals, and build respectful connections with others. By fostering confidence and resilience, the program helps them to navigate the complexities of growing up and prepares them for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
It is crucial for families and schools to work together to support students, particularly at this age. This partnership helps ensure that students receive the guidance and resources they need both at home and at school.
There was a powerful sense of community at this event, and it was wonderful to see that our students are valued, supported and cherished by their families and their Voyage teachers. What a great start to the year for students!

Cafe Culture
The Stage 2 Food and Hospitality class kicked off the year with their first practical assessment: 'Cafe Culture'. The students were required to design a dish that reflected a cultural influence that would be seen on a contemporary brunch menu. The high calibre of dishes and skill shown was impressive for this point in the year. We can't wait to see what this class achieves throughout the year!

Property Investment Exploration: Business Innovation
In Year 10 Business and Economics, students are currently exploring different investment types, including bank accounts, shares and property. This year, we had the opportunity to hear from a real estate professional, Maigen Norman, from LJ Hooker Property Specialists. She facilitated an engaging Q&A session about property investment, covering a range of topics including why people invest in real estate, how to select a good investment property and market trends including which suburbs offer a high rental yield. She offered insightful strategies and recommendations to the students, encouraging them to save up and plan ahead so they can break into the property market. Students will continue to explore property through Virtual Reality, by doing a Google Earth 'walk through' around their potential investment properties, to investigate lifestyle factors, such as access to shops, schools and public transport.
