Swimming Carnival

The 2025 Swimming Carnival at Waterworld was an unforgettable event, full of energy and excitement! The day kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony, setting the tone for what would be an action-packed day.

Students quickly spread out to enjoy the 50m competitive pool, the 25m 'play pool,' and the thrilling 4-storey waterslides. The sound of laughter and cheers could be heard all around as everyone got involved in the fun.

The morning was packed with individual swimming events, where talented students showcased their skills. The 25m races added a fun twist, encouraging some friendly competition and playful banter between peers, and an opportunity for all levels of swimmers to get involved. One of the standout moments was the novelty team games, which created an exciting atmosphere within the shallow pool. Villages went head-to-head in creative challenges, racking up team points and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie.

The Senior School Splash Dances were an impressive display of talent, while the staff vs. student novelty race drew huge cheers from the crowd, with the staff narrowly edging out the students.

We once again held the thrilling All-Star 8 Race, featuring the fastest eight boys and eight girls in a fierce race for supremacy, showcasing some incredible speed and determination.

The excitement reached its peak with the final events of the day during the Village 4x25m relays, as students gathered by the pool to cheer on their teams in a nail-biting finish.

In the end, Mitchell was crowned the champion of the day, earning the most points and securing the overall victory in what was truly a memorable day for all.

SACSA Swimming

Despite the quick turnaround from the Swimming Carnival to the SACSA Swimming, Endeavour sent a small but determined group of four swimmers.

Each swimmer gave their absolute best, demonstrating incredible effort throughout the day. While the competition was fierce, many of our swimmers finished just outside the podium, securing impressive 4th and 5th place finishes. With only two to three seconds separating them from the top spots, it was clear that they were right in the mix, showing their competitive spirit. The standout performance of the day came from Sophie Stock, who earned the only ribbon for the team, finishing 3rd in the Under 13 50m Breaststroke. A well-deserved achievement. We are incredibly proud of all our swimmers for their dedication and hard work. Their determination to give it their all, despite the odds, is something to celebrate.

Well, done to everyone who competed!

Year 9 Geography Zoo Fieldwork Excursions

Last week our three Year 9 classes studying Semester 1 Geography visited the Adelaide Zoo as part of their studies of Biomes.

Students worked in groups to collect data on a variety of different biomes that are represented at the Zoo including deserts, rainforests, savannah and temperate forests. They also had the opportunity to observe the animals that are found in these biomes and consider the various techniques of gathering data that can be used as part of their geographic studies. Back in the classroom, students are now comparing and analysing the data they collected, to draw conclusions about the biome displays and different data collection methods.

Lenswood Apples:

Year 12 Business Innovation Excursion

Our two Year 12 Business Innovation classes were fortunate to visit beautiful Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills to learn about the business, Lenswood Pick your Own. Co-founder and owner, Emily Shipway took our students on a tour and spent time explaining how the business has evolved from a commercial orchard to a diverse, award-winning

Agri-Tourism Business.

The business focuses on customer experience and has diverse revenue streams including, family apple-picking, children’s play area, Café, and educational experiences. She was candid about the challenges of owning and growing a business and learning how to adapt and evolve in an ever-changing economy.

Students came away with a deep understanding of how problem-solving and resourcefulness leads to growth and fulfillment. We are extremely grateful for Emily’s hospitality and willingness to share her experiences and insights with Endeavour’s budding Entrepreneurs.

The Hygiene Co:

Year 11 Business Innovation Excursion

How often do students get to see the ins and outs of a manufacturing company?

The Year 11 Business Innovation students were privileged to visit The Hygiene Co, an Australian manufacturer of plastic-free, compostable, and biodegradable wipes.

Owner-entrepreneur Phil Scardigno took us for a tour of the plant, explaining the manufacturing process and showing us the cutting-edge automation that allows them to produce 30,000 packs of wipes daily.

Students were also made aware of the negative impact the wet-wipe industry has had on the environment - for instance, did you know that the fitness industry alone uses one billion wipes per year, creating nearly two million kilograms of plastic landfill?

Students were given some sample products to try at home, encouraging them to be more aware and committed towards promoting environmental sustainability.
