From the Principal

We are now halfway through Term 1, and the energy around the College is certainly positive. I am excited to provide a few updates for the College for 2025.
Firstly, at our first College Board meeting of the year, it was announced that Leanne Ridsdale has been re-appointed as Board Chairperson for an additional two-year tenure. Since joining the Board in 2022, Leanne has played a vital role in our school's governance, and I feel truly fortunate to have her support as we embark on the exciting next phase of the College with the Lakeside Development.
Additionally, I am pleased to announce that
Mr Wooldridge will be returning from Long Service Leave in Terms 3 and 4 to support the College by stepping into the roles of Director of Learning (Term 3) and Head of Middle School (Term 4) while Ms Barry and Ms Mulligan take their long service leave. In 2024, Mr Wooldridge provided outstanding support as Head of Senior Years and has previously held various leadership roles within the College, including Deputy Principal. With his extensive experience and dedication, we are confident he will excel in these appointments.
Renovations on the first floor are progressing well. The History room, Japanese room, Head of Senior School’s office and Careers and Pathways office are now occupied, new lockers have been installed upstairs, while the newly created Boardroom is nearing completion. While these spaces are operational, some finishing works remain outstanding, including:
• Completion of the toilet blocks
• Continued painting work, with new colours added downstairs and in parts of the Mall. Internal and external painting will continue throughout the year.
The Lakeside Development Project continues to make significant progress. We have now appointed key consultants, including town planners, civil, stormwater, and structural engineers. Additionally, we have engaged an external communications team to support the development with a clear communication plan for the build. This will ensure that our families and the wider community remain informed every step of the way.
On Thursday night, we held a Community Engagement evening in the Endeavour Centre Foyer, which provided a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together and ask questions about the footbridge across Mawson Lakes Boulevard.
We enjoyed speaking with residents and proudly sharing renders of our newest school facade designs and floorplans. It was wonderful to connect with our community and hear their thoughts as we move forward with this exciting project.
While we look ahead to the future of our College, we remain steadfast in our commitment to the present.
As always, our primary focus is on the operations and education of our current
Year 7–12 students, ensuring continued, high-quality education and a supportive learning environment.
We look forward to NAPLAN testing next week as well as our Athletics Carnival in Week 8.
I look forward to sharing further developments as we move into the next phase of council approvals. In the meantime, I ask that you keep the College in your prayers as we continue this exciting journey.
Mr Richard Baird
