Principal's Report

I had the pleasure of visiting our Year 7 Camp last week, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The campsite provided an excellent environment for our students to connect, build friendships and step out of their comfort zones. I was incredibly impressed by the enthusiasm and positivity of our students as they embraced the activities and challenges presented to them. These experiences are only possible due to the dedication and hard work of our amazing staff, who go above and beyond to plan, prepare and support these opportunities. A very BIG thank you to everyone involved – your efforts create lasting memories for our students and help them grow in confidence and resilience.

Back at school, I am pleased to see our classroom routines continuing to enhance the learning environment. The structured start and end to each lesson, along with the cue to start, have significantly contributed to a calmer and more focused atmosphere for both students and staff. This consistency helps set clear expectations, allowing students to settle into their learning more effectively.

I would also like to take a moment to remind families of the importance of kind and respectful behaviour. I encourage parents and caregivers to engage in regular conversations with their child/ren about making thoughtful and compassionate choices. It’s natural for young people to make mistakes – it’s a vital part of their learning and development. However, it’s equally important that they take responsibility for their actions, reflect on their decisions and understand how their behaviour impacts others. By fostering empathy, accountability and kindness, we help shape our students into respectful and caring young adults.

As we enter the Lenten season, it’s a time for reflection, selflessness and giving. I encourage everyone in our school community to consider what small acts of kindness or generosity they can extend to others. Whether it’s helping a friend, supporting a charity, or simply offering words of encouragement, every gesture contributes to building a more compassionate and connected community.
