Sports Day
Next Thursday 3 April sees us celebrate our annual School Sports Day. This is always a wonderful occasion, with all children participating in sprints, a long distance event and a range of tabloid sports. On Sports Day, we encourage students to dress up and be part of the spirit of their house during the course of the day. All students are able to come to school in their sports uniform and a t-shirt that represents their house colour, ready for a day of races, sporting activities and fun.
Mr O’Shea has prepared a fun and enjoyable day for everyone to be involved in. Thanks to our Year 6 House Captains who are also working behind the scenes, preparing House chants as the excitement and team spirit builds. Thanks also to the Year 3 parents, who on behalf of the PA, have organised a hot dog lunch and Zooper Dooper for the children next week.
Click the Trybooking link below to order hot dogs.

Parents are invited to attend both the long distance races in the morning and the sprint races in the afternoon. We ask that spectators spread out along the green hill for the morning long distance races and spread out along the Glenferrie Road side of the school oval for the afternoon sprint races. Thank you to all the volunteers who are able to assist with the long distance races.
Thanks for your support with the above matters. We are very much looking forward to our 2025 School Sports Day next Thursday 3 April.

On Thursday 24 April, Year 4 students will lead us in an ANZAC Day Commemoration on the oval. On Monday 28 April, all Senior students will participate in Melbourne's Legacy Annual ANZAC Day Commemoration for students at the Shrine of Remembrance. Honorary guests and dignitaries will be in attendance to address the students and the ceremony will include Defence Force Cadets, school band & choir and a RAAF fly-over.
Mandarin Day - Wednesday 30 April
Sacred Heart will be celebrating Mandarin Day on Wednesday 30 April. Students will be engaged in a range of activities to celebrate and help them better understand the Chinese culture. The day will involve all students and staff participating in a number of different activities relating to Chinese culture. These activities include a Chinese dance incursion, Chinese traditional games and Chinese craft. Students are encouraged to dress in clothing that has some Chinese cultural elements. This could be a formal Chinese costume or clothing that incorporates the colours red and gold. Our generous Parents' Association will be supplying a Chinese snack consisting of mini vegetable spring rolls, mini beef dim sims and a fortune cookie. More details will be sent home via Operoo in the next few weeks.
Thank you to Mrs Bei Chen and Mrs Wendy Chen for organising the day.
Year 4 Camp
Please note a change to the Year 4 Camp this year. The new dates for the camp are Monday 19 May to Wednesday 21 May.
