Learning, growing and celebrating together...
Dear Sacred Heart Kew Families,
What makes a good chant these days? In just under a week, we’re going to find out!
‘Extra, extra, read all about it, we’re gonna win, there’s no doubt about it!’
‘2,4,6,8, who do we appreciate?’
‘Everywhere we go, (everywhere we go), people want to know (people want to know)’
For the last couple of weeks, our school yard has been transformed into ‘Chantville’, with each of our four house colour groups practising, preparing themselves for next weeks ‘Chant Off’. Sports Day 2025 is nearly here. Up for grabs is our School Sports Shield and House Spirit Shield.
Many questions will be answered next Thursday. Can Blue House continue their dominance of winning the School Sports Shield four out of the last five years? Or will the other three houses have the right ingredients this year, to knock Blue from their winning perch? We can’t wait to find out next week.
Next week is also our final week of Term One. As well as our Sporting Fiesta on Thursday, we also have some other events that we also look forward to celebrating. Next Wednesday we will see everyone ‘dressed to impress’ in their Summer School Uniform finest and I am sure we will see some new (sharp) haircuts too (better book mine in). On Friday (our last day of term) we will celebrate our Easter Bonnet Parade at 12.15pm (before our school day finishes at 12.45pm).
I can picture and sense many things as we approach our final week of Term One. Haircuts, shoe polishing, clothes ironed, for School Photos, search parties for the correct House colour t-shirt and associated paraphernalia for Sports Day, followed up with families frantically running around (if any energy reserves still available) on Thursday evening, readying their ‘Easter Bonnet’ designs, making last minute adjustments to the finished piece (praying that hot weather doesn’t come into play by way of melting said creation before hitting the MPR runway).
Our final week of Term One will certainly be colourful and hectic, and no doubt eventful, as Easter and holidays draw ever near. Get cracking on all those jobs over the weekend (if you can), to avoid the mad scramble that might take place during the week.
Wishing everyone a lovely (calm) weekend (before the final week of term shenanigans). See you at the finish line, if not before.
