UQ Outreach St Lucia Experience Day

In Week 9 of last term under the diligent supervision of Ms Cerchi & Ms Welling, a bus load of our Year 10 students visited UQ St Lucia for their outreach experience day. The experience day helped demystify university and provided students with information and first-hand insight into the opportunities available at university. Students gained a deeper understanding of university life and interacted with current university staff and students in a practical learning environment. The students visited the St Lucia campus participated in a range of activities, including a presentation to introduce them to university, a campus orientation activity, a free lunch and hands-on degree taster activities. Highlights included a tour through the engineering building and restricted access engineering laboratory, igniting interest in students wanting to pursue a career in technology.
