Junior Interschool Chess Tournament

Our Balambalam Chess Superstars!

On Thursday 21st May, three of our students proudly represented Balambalam Primary School at the Chess Victoria Zonal Junior Interschool Chess Tournament, competing against students from other local schools.

The students had a fantastic day working together, supporting one another as a team, and being involved in the wider community. Their sportsmanship, teamwork and enthusiasm were wonderful to see throughout the tournament.

Here are some student reflections from the day:

Tadi: My favourite part of the day was the relief of winning my first game, it made me proud because I won 3 for the day!

Kav: My favourite part of the Chess Tournament was representing Balambalam Primary School and getting to see some of my friends and teachers from my previous school when we played against each other. 

Isaiah: My favourite part of the day was building my confidence in playing chess and competing against other schools and my old friends.
