Hello from Grade 5/6Kelsie 

This term, we have had lots of exciting events and learning happening already! We have also had some lovely new additions to our classroom who have settled in really well. Welcome to Violet Street Milly and Parker!

Gymnastics 

Students have been going to gymnastics last two Monday's where they have learning different skills and practising their coodination. Here are some photos of students in action! 

District Sports 

We had many representatives from Grade 5/6Kelsie at District Athletics this term who have done a fantastic job! Well done to all students who particpated and did their best!!

Maths 

In maths we have working on Fractions. Students have been breaking down what fractions look like, how to add and subtract these and understanding equivilant fractions. We have been playing the "Colour a Fraction" by rolling and identifying equiivlant fractions to colour in a fraction wall to try and beat out partner! 

Reading 

We have reading some wonderful texts in our class. Our class Novel is the BFG which we have nearly finished! Students have enjoyed reading a range of texts from our class library, Ms K and the school Library. Here are some book that our students suggest for you to read. 

Writing

We have been doing research reports this term where students have chosen an animal species, conducted research and compelted a report on this. Students also used a checklist and rubric to reflect on their learning. Here are some student's work. 

SWPBS

Many students have earnt their 20 points whilst I have been away. Some students have chose to use their points on Minecraft and a cold Milo! We are focusing on Kindness this term. Grade 5/6 Kelsie have filled their Jar and done such a fabulous job this week. They will be enjoying the beginning of the BFG movie based on our novel and ice creams this afternoon as a little reward for their awesome efforts!
