TERM 4: 2025 Week 7-8: reminders and critical messages

Principal's Message

Well done to our Prep students, who have had a successful swimming program this past fortnight; it's now the turn of our Year 1 & Year 2 students who will be down at Bayfit Aquatic Centre for the next two weeks. Our Year 5s have also had a 'sporting week' with their participation in the first of a series of Lacrosse clinics, which will run for the next 3 weeks.

As we have continued to work through student enrollments and classroom formations, we have made an adjustment to our class structures for 2026 and there will now no longer be a composite class in the Year 5/6 area - instead, we will have straight grades only. We will however retain the composite grade in the Year 3/4 area.

By the time we publish our next Principal's Post in Week 8, we will likely be in a position to share staffing allocations and movements for the 2026 school year, although actual student-to-class allocations will not announced until Step Up Day.

The main talk of the town is of course next week's Twilight Fete - everything is steadily coming together. There are a few short reminders and announcements below regarding the fete, but I wanted to take a moment to say that I hope our community really enjoy the event - it has taken a monumental amount of work by our WPA, under the guidance of Linh Krygger. It has been a steep learning curve for all involved but trust that, as a community, we will come together as a solution-minded and positively intentioned group in the final week, to overcome any final curve-balls that come our way! I'm sure there will be many! Personally, I am really looking forward to seeing our studnents and families having fun, smiling all whilst fundraising for the school. I believe I am listed down for the Dunk Tank - so will see you all there!

Their Care: Fete participation

Originally, we hoped that any children booked into Their Care next Friday afternoon would be able to visit the fete. However, our site coordinator, Jacqueline, has been informed by the area manager that this is not allowable.

Please ensure that you consider this if you were planning on booking your child into Their Care on Friday. You may consider an alternative, such as buddying up with another family, who may have capacity to act as the supervising adult - if this is the case, we ask that you remain mindful of effective adult:child supervision ratios.

Year 1-2 Swimming: will be held at Bayfit Aquatic Centre from November 17th to November 28th, inclusive. Please see your Sentral Information for further details.

This term, our Year Five students have had an exciting opportunity to take part in a program known as the Stand Up Project (SUP). SUP is an award-winning initiative that reduces discrimination, harassment, and bullying through student-designed and student-delivered Upstander Training.

A group of our students have formed a committee of SUP Student Leaders. These leaders have worked together to identify key issues within our school and develop class plans and projects to promote Upstander behaviour.

As a part of this program, our students, together with Dr Zach Greig will lead a parent information session on the 20th November 3:45pm- 4:45pm.
