Principal's Report

Principal’s Report
Our Year 12 exams are now well into their third week, with many students completing their final exams over the coming days. It’s been a period of focus, commitment and resilience as our senior students give their best to finish their schooling journey on a high.
Alongside this, our Year 11 students have also been undertaking their exams, using the opportunity to strengthen their exam skills and challenge themselves in preparation for what lies ahead next year. It’s been great to see students approach this period with maturity and purpose, knowing that these experiences set the foundation for success in their final year of schooling.

Exciting Progress on Our Science and Health Centre Build
It’s fantastic to share some very positive news regarding our long-awaited Science and Health Centre project. After receiving the final building tender submissions for our $11.2 million development, I’m pleased to report that all tenders have come in on budget. This means we’re now moving toward appointing a builder, with works expected to commence before the end of the year.
Over the summer holidays, there will be plenty of activity across the school as we prepare for this exciting news works. Planned works include:
- The demolition of the existing S-Wing,
- The construction of two new classrooms inside the library, and
The relocation of our current portables to form a neat line along the Digby Avenue fence line.
It’s been a long journey since the initial funding announcement back in 2022, and it’s incredibly exciting to now see this project ready to take shape. The new Science and Health Centre will be a transformative addition to our school, providing state-of-the-art facilities for students and staff and further enhancing learning opportunities for years to come.

Students not attending BHS in 2026
Could parents of 2025 Year 7 to Year 11 students who will NOT be attending Belmont High School in 2026, please notify the school as soon as possible. This information will help the school in planning for 2026.
Orientation Buddies Program
Year 8 and 9 students are currently putting their names forward to be buddies for our Year 6 – 7 transition and orientation programs.
They will undertake buddy training and are an important element to supporting the transition of our next cohort of Year 7 students into the school. Please get your child to reach out to House Leaders or Mr David Fanning if they’re keen to take part.
Buddies will be exempted from classes on Tuesday 9th December to participate in the orientation program.
