2026 Planning well underway
Planning for the 2026 school year is well underway, and we are excited to share the first of our updates. We are pleased to announce that all of our current teaching staff will be returning next year, along with our dedicated ongoing Education Support (ES) staff and Specialist Teachers, who continue to be a valuable part of our team.
Our projected enrolments for 2026 remain stable. With 37 Grade 6 students transitioning to secondary school and 42 new Prep students joining us, we are anticipating a total enrolment of just under 300 students.
Over the next few weeks ahead of the Statewide Transition Day on Tuesday December 9th, staff will begin developing student groupings for 2026. As part of this process, a whole-school transition afternoon is planned for next Thursday. During this session, students will take part in a range of activities designed to help staff form classes that balance friendships and promote positive, focused learning environments. I thank staff for the proactive, considered and collaborative approach they are taking to forming these groupings.
Happening Next Week
Kinder Transition Day 2 – Tuesday November 11th
Our Kinder Transition Program is off to a wonderful start. This week, we welcomed 42 enthusiastic preps to their very first session. It was fantastic to see their smiles and excitement as they explored their new learning environment. We were also thrilled with the great turnout at our Parent Information Night to learn more about the transition process and how to support our new Preps in having a positive start to next year. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again for our second session next week.
Remembrance Day – Tuesday November 11th
Next Tuesday November 11th, our School Leaders have been invited by the Committee and Members of the Hamilton RSL Sub-Branch to attend the annual Remembrance Day Service at the Hamilton Cenotaph War Memorial. Mr Kelson will attend this service with Connor and Henry. At school we will hold a short Remembrance Day ceremony. At 10:50am, Holly and Sophie will lead the service over the school speakers for our students and staff. This will conclude with the Minute Silence and the Last Post.
Nigretta House BBQ 2 – Friday 14th
This term we have introduced house BBQs, as a fundraiser for the Year 6 Big Day out. Sports captains will take the lead in organizing and running the events along with the other Grade 6 leaders from their house. This is an opportunity to further develop their leadership skills before they transition to secondary school next year. The BBQs will allow students in each house to share lunch together, helping foster a sense of belonging with each other and their house. Students are strongly encouraged to wear a touch of their house colour on the day of their BBQ.
Coming Up Soon
Report Writing Day – Monday November 17th.
A reminder that Monday, November 17, is a student-free day. No students are required at school on this day. Staff will be using this time to begin compiling Semester 2 reports, ensuring accurate and thoughtful feedback is prepared for each student based on work completed, class engagement and end of year assessments. We thank our school community for their understanding and support as teachers dedicate this day to report writing.
