Persuasive Letters
This term in year 6, we have been learning about persuasive writing, with a special focus on persuasive letters. We've explored how writers use language to influence opinions, including strong arguments, authority, and powerful rhetorical devices. We've also practised using formal letter structure, starting with an introduction that clearly states our point of view, followed by persuasive paragraphs that include evidence and reasoning. Our lessons have taught us how to appeal to different audiences, whether we're writing to convince a principal, a politician or community leaders. Overall, we've learned that persuasive letters are an effective way to express our beliefs and encourage others to take action.
