World Teachers’ Day

Dear Parents and Carers,

Tomorrow, Australia celebrates World Teachers’ Day — a special day to acknowledge the professionalism, dedication, and expertise of those who educate, inspire, and care for our students here at St Andrew’s School.

World Teachers’ Day offers us the chance to pause and give thanks for the extraordinary contribution that teachers make to the lives of children and families. Their work goes well beyond the classroom. Teachers build relationships, nurture wellbeing, and create environments where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn. They celebrate success, guide students through challenges, and help them discover their gifts and talents.

At St Andrew’s, we are truly blessed with a team of teachers who bring creativity, care, and a deep sense of purpose to everything they do. Each lesson they design, every conversation they have, and every word of encouragement they offer reflects their belief in the potential of our young people. Their work is not just about teaching content — it’s about shaping character, growing faith, and instilling a lifelong love of learning.

Teaching in a Catholic school is a vocation — a calling to share in God’s mission through education. Our teachers live this vocation daily as they integrate faith and learning, lead by example, and nurture each child as a unique and precious creation of God. We thank them for their commitment, for the joy they bring to their work, and for the difference they make in the lives of our students and families.

To our teachers — we say thank you. Thank you for your patience, your generosity, your creativity, and your unwavering dedication to the children in your care. You embody the heart of our school and the spirit of St Andrew’s.

To our Parents and Friends  — we say a very big thank you for providing our teachers with a beautiful morning tea today. This was greatly appreicated and our teachers felt totally spoilt!
