Kindergarten
Kindergarten students have been busy learning about the weather in our world. Their major project was to create a shelter using recycled materials for their teddy that protected them from the sun, wind and rain.
Stage 1
Stage 1 students have been learning about what living things need to survive. Students have been growing their own parsley plant which has taught us that we need lots of patience when growing plants, sunlight, soil and water. Stage 1 were very excited when their plants began to sprout!
Stage 2
Stage 2 have been busy bees. They created Bee Hotels using sustainable materials to encourage bees to visit. Stage 2 have learnt that bees are critical to our world and we must do all we can to help them stay alive. Students researched native bee species, their behaviour and habitat needs and created their Bee Hotels in small groups.
Stage 3
Stage 3 have been learning about animal adaptations and how that helps them survive in their environment. Students created their own creature, described its habitat and adaptations, explained how their adaptations are an advantage and even created a lifecycle.
STEM Stage 2 and 3 Showcase
We had a great morning showcasing Stage 2 and 3’s major projects for this term. It was great to see so many parents and family members visit and have the students explain their learning.
