TRADES

In this week’s wrap-up, we take a moment to thank Mr Guy Truss, who is retiring at the end of this term. A long-time Metals Engineering Trainer at the College, Guy is leaving us to begin a well-earned retirement—filled with travel, family time and the continuation of his passion for guitar making, among other things.

Guy has been a valued member of the College for eight years, responsible for countless firepits, trailers, ute trays and an uncountable variety of other inspiring engineering-based projects. His passion for the job and his generous spirit has left a lasting impression on both students and colleagues.

Guy is also well known for his coaching of the schools Country Week volleyball teams and leaves behind a lasting legacy in the Trades Department.

This Weekly Wrap includes a variety of photos of Guy in his element—training students and showcasing some of the incredible projects completed under his guidance over the years. On behalf of everyone, thank you Guy. All the best for your retirement and don’t be a stranger!

As Term One comes to a close, we again say goodbye to Guy, reflect on what a productive and rewarding ten weeks it has been across all trade contexts.

Next term, Shaun Cantwell will return from long service leave as Head of Trades. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all students, staff and parents for making my time in the role over the past ten weeks such an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
