Representative Trials
Dennis L, Ethan G, Hudson S, Davis V and Hugo H recently competed at the MacKillop Swimming Trials at Sydney Olympic Park. We had our junior boys relay competing with Ethan, Hudson, Davis and Hugo while Dennis competed in the 11yrs 50m Breaststroke. Our junior boys finished in 5th place, a remarkable achievement at this level. This is third school swimming events the boys have competed at this year and we couldn't be any more proud of them.
Congratulations to Noah VD who has secured a spot in the MacKillop AFL team. We are also excited to announce that Xavier E who travelled to Goulburn recently for the MacKillop Hockey Trials has also secured a spot in the MacKillop Team.
Congratulations to Lana B who was selected as part of the Sydney Girls Football team to compete at the MacKillop Girls Football trial. This week Lana B, Rebecca W, Lila M, Lenny A, Noah VD, Jack C and Liam P trialed for the Conference 3 Touch Football Trials. Lila and Rebecca were successful moving forward to the Sydney Touch Football Trials next term.
AFL PAUL KELLY CUP
Excitement and camaraderie were in full swing at the AFL Gala Day, where teams showcased their skills, spirit, and love for the game. A huge congratulations to our boys' team, whose determination and teamwork led them to the quarter finals! We are so proud of your efforts. A big thank you to our teachers and parents who helped out on the day!
INTERSCHOOL SPORT Term 1
We have finally kicked off our Interschool Sport for the year. Year 4 students brought incredible energy and enthusiasm to their soccer games. They showed remarkable teamwork, putting their skills into practice while working together to achieve their goals. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to enjoy the game, make friends, and celebrate their efforts, win or lose. Year 6 along with a Level 1 Netball Team plus All Abilities European Handball Team attended the only optional Interschool Gala Day this year. Students demonstrated great skills out on the court as they enjoyed the company of their friends.
ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
What a great event for the 2025 annual Athletics Carnival. It was a fun, school and community event but also a day for our students to showcase their talent out on the track and field. We were also blessed with perfect weather conditions.
A big thank you to our parent helpers for assisting our teachers and officials at stations. Your help is greatly appreciated. It was lovely to see many parent spectators to support our children in all events. Our students displayed great sportsmanship and everyone had the opportunity to be involved in this day.
Another special mention to our 2025 Sport Captains for leading your houses throughout the day. What great leadership and role models you are for all students. Your involvement, dedication and willingness to always offer a helping hand makes all the difference.
Finally the great staff at St Pat's work over and beyond to ensure our students have a great day. Our teachers danced, cheered and raced throughout the day.
Below are the overall results from the timed and measured events. Our 1st place winners, if meeting the qualifying measured/timed, will progress to the Conference Carnival and in some track events, our top 2 progress. Students who have progressed to the Conference Trial on Tuesday 5th August 2025 will receive notes next term.

INTERSCHOOL SPORT OVERVIEW
This document has been shared with families of Years 3-6 which contains an overview of all Sydney Catholic Schools Interschool Sport for Stage 2 and 3 throughout 2025.
SCS Sporting Pathways - Representative
The Representative Pathway Sports will continue into Term 1 2025 with many sports already in the MacKillop Trial stage. This is because the representative sport calendar season with Sydney Catholic Schools runs from Term 4 2024 to Term 3 2025.
Year 5 and Year 6 students have the opportunity to represent St Patrick’s at trials to progress through the pathway system. The sports they will be able to trial for are varied and many are open to both boys and girls.
To be considered for selection to represent St Patrick’s students require experience and to be playing the sport as a registered player at a high level of skill outside of school. This should be in the form of a regular, structured rep, Division 1 or equivalent A level competition. Parents had the opportunity to nominate their child via an electronic form last year. This form will be re-sent during Term 3 2025 to gather any new or updated information regarding your child's sport involvement outside of school. Nominations for this sports calendar season have closed as trials have commenced.
When a student attends a Conference Pathway Sporting event it is important that they take the documentation supplied by the school with them. Parents will also need to provide consent via COMPASS. Your child may not be allowed to compete without the form. Your child will also be given a representative St Patrick's Jersey/Shirt to wear in which they will need to wash and return after the trial.
If there is a change in your child's attendance to one of these events please email amanda.col@syd.catholic.edu.au so I can make the necessary arrangements to withdraw your child from this event. This is to ensure an accurate record on COMPASS and for the smooth running of the trial event.
SCS SCHOOL HOLIDAY CAMPS
COMMUNITY SPORT
Kyler R from 3P recently competed at the Sydney Athletic Centre for the State Championships for Little Athletics. Kyler won the U9 boys high jump with a jump of 1.22m. He was very excited to be awarded his gold medal by Ronald McDonald.
