Young Leaders Day

On the 25th of March  the school leaders of St Patrick's had the opportunity to go to the National Young Leaders day conference in Darling Harbour. We listened to inspirational speakers who told us about their own personal stories and how they became Leaders in their fields.

The speakers were Anthony “Harris” Carroll, Catherine Laga’Aia, Emma McKeon and Thomas Duncan-Watt. They taught us about resilience and never giving up. Throughout  the day we also had the opportunity to participate in dance classes. We learnt a dance which taught  us all about how learning is fun and important.

Each speaker gave us inspirational quotes.

Thomas Duncan-Watt - “Never give up, you need to fail. Every failure is a step closer to success. Keep focused and keep going !

Emma McKeon inspired and taught us to be resilient and to not let anyone hold you down. She told us to believe in ourselves. “Don’t be afraid to have big dreams.” Emma also spoke about setbacks, obstacles and failures that can be our biggest teachers.

All the speakers spoke about how we should never stop believing and that there's always something positive hiding in all the negativity. We also learnt that  you will never know how good you can be till you get out of your comfort zone.

The day was fun packed and informative.  We learnt so much about having a positive mindset and the importance of believing in dreams and yourself.  We are all so grateful to have had this wonderful opportunity.
