Hello GWPS, Families and Students! 

 

My name is Duke and I am your 2025 School Vice-captain and welcome to the last week of the term! As we head towards the end of the first quarter of the school year, we have had a lot of exciting events this term. I’m incredibly proud of all our students and staff for their hard work this term. Let’s continue to make the most of the time left and finish the first term strong! This term has been involved with Year 5 camp, cross country, The Art competition, innovations, winter school sports, coin race and more!

 

 

Year 5 Camp – An Adventure to Remember!

 

Our Year 5 students had a fantastic time at camp, exploring the outdoors and participating in team-building activities. They built lasting friendships and created unforgettable memories. A big thank you to the teachers and volunteers for making this trip possible!

 

 

Cross Country – Well Done, Everyone!

 

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Cross-Country event! It was an exciting day full of determination and sportsmanship. Well done to our top finishers and thank you to everyone who supported the event!

 

 

Art Competition – Celebrating Creativity

 

Our annual Art Competition showcased the incredible talent of our students. With the theme "A World of Colour, "students created stunning works of art, from paintings to sculptures. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all participants for their creativity!

 

 

Innovations – Future Thinkers Shine

 

Our Innovation programs have been a huge success, with students presenting creative projects ranging from futuristic inventions to sustainable solutions. We’re proud of the innovative ideas shared by our students and look forward to more exciting projects in the future!

 

 

Year 6 Winter Inter- School Sports 

 

This year, Year 6 students will enjoy new sports for the winter season, including soccer, t-ball, netball, AFL 9s and ultimate frisbee. The first game will take place on the last day of Term 1 and good luck to all teams!

 

 

Coin Race – Fundraising Fun!

 

The Coin Race was a fantastic success! Students raised funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital, and we are so proud of the school’s effort. Thank you to all the participants for contributing to this great cause!
