Around The Primary

Dear Families

A very excited group of Year 5 students headed off to the Cahoots Adventure Camp on Monday morning. This camp is an important part of the students’ school educational journey and a wonderful opportunity for students to foster friendships and make life-long memories.  Special thanks to Mrs Purcell for coordinating this camp and to Ms Allen, Miss Hooper, Miss Murray, Mrs Fontaine, Miss Eisenmann, Mrs Gilmour, Mrs Taylor, Mr Williams, Mrs Alach, Ms Joyce and Ms Kidd for attending the camp and providing such an amazing experience for our students. Our dedicated staff always go the extra mile to ensure these events are a great success.

My thanks are extended to parents and caregivers for taking the time to send a message of thanks to staff and for providing such positive feedback.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for providing the Year 5 students with such a wonderful camping experience at Cahoots earlier this week.  It sounds like they were all taken care of so well by the amazing JTC teachers and Cahoots staff and I know my child had such a fantastic time.

We absolutely loved receiving all the photographs of great memories being made by all the students.   Thanks to all the staff involved in making the camp such a positive experience.

Our son thoroughly enjoyed his time on camp, and we are grateful that he had the opportunity to experience it with such dedicated staff and great friends!

A special highlight of the week has been today’s Assembly prepared by the Year 3 students. They did an amazing job of reminding us about the importance of spelling and spelling rules! We appreciate Mrs Haydon, Mrs Thomas, and Miss Micale's creative approach in making spelling an enjoyable and engaging experience for our students!

As we move through the final week of Lent towards Holy Week, all families are welcome to join us for our Easter Reflection on Thursday 10 April.

Year 5 White will lead the Easter Reflection at 9:00am in the Chapel for all Gold classes.

Year 5 Blue will lead the Easter Reflection at 11:00am in the Chapel for all Blue classes.

We hope this special prayer time will help our school community to focus on the importance of Easter.

Health Centre

The Health Centre provides a valuable support to students when they are unwell or injured. When a student presents to the Health Centre, our experienced College Nurses, Jo Cook and Judy Buckley, in assessing their fitness to stay at school may decide that the student is too unwell to return to the classroom.  In this case, parents will be called to collect their child. It is important that parents keep their contact details up to date with the College, including an alternative contact, so that in the event of a student being too unwell to remain at school, they or the alternative contact can be easily contactable. For the comfort of an unwell student and the safety of others, particularly in the case of an infectious illness, parent or alternative contacts are requested to collect the student within an hour of being contacted.

Please email nancy.petsos@johnxxiii.edu.au in Primary Reception to check or update your contact details.
