Regional Finals Spelling Bee

Richard had an impressive win today in the regional spelling bee against about 29 competitors.

Although he was very nervous, he remained composed. In the end, it was between him and one other student, and they went back and forth a few times. But Richard reigned supreme, showing great sportsmanship by congratulating the runner-up.

Many of the words in the final rounds were unfamiliar. Some of the words he spelled correctly include:

• Peace
• Retinue
• Irreproachable
• Quorum
• Acupuncture
• Sojourn
• Brusque
• Boisterous

Lucas also did really well and made it to round 4! Congratulations to Lucas for his time and dedication.

Giovanni Honoured at Harmony Day Poster Competition

We are proud to share that Giovanni was awarded Runner-Up in the Harmony Day 2025 poster competition. Giovanni received his award at a special ceremony held at NSW Parliament House on 26 June. Congratulations to Giovanni, a very proud moment for his family and Chatswood Public School!

Taekwondo NSW State Championships 2025

The Taekwondo NSW State Championships 2025 were held at the Dunc Grey Velodrome on Sunday. A group of our CPS students from the Chung Do Taekwondo Chatswood school participated in the competition. Our students trained hard in the months leading up to the event, and many of them earned one or more medals in sparring and/or poomsae (technical patterns) within their respective age divisions and belt levels. It was a long and sometimes tiring day at the venue, but the students really enjoyed the opportunity to compete against kids from all over NSW and to test their growth and skills in the sport. A big congratulations to all the students and coaches for their dedication and hard work!
