Catholic Education Week-                                         St Patrick's  Feast Day Celebrations

Last Friday, the school captains and the Faith and Social Justice Team travelled by train to St Patrick's Cathedral to celebrate St Patrick's Day and Catholic Education Week. Ella and Louis , along with another 250+ representatives of Catholic schools across Melbourne, processed in with our school banner. After mass we were lucky enough to get a quick photo with the Archbishop himself!

We then walked down to Treasury Gardens and enjoyed an afternoon of music and outdoor activities. The students represented our school beautifully with pride and respect.

Family Shamrock Activity

Thank you to those families who have returned their decorated family shamrocks. These are being displayed in the school office foyer. I'm very impressed with the artistic creativity some families have produced. Please feel free to send yours along next week if you have not done so already.

Projection Compassion

Our students are also showing great empathy, working toward social justice initiatives this Lent, raising money for those less fortunate. Rosie and Amelia planned for a month to make bracelets and cupcakes to sell at the Train Park. They were able to raise over $200.

Yasmine also went above and beyond by raising over $300 for Project Compassion.

Some of  our Yr 6 students organised a Lenten Morning Tea for our parishioners to raise money for Caritas.  The parishioners were very grateful and the students were able to raise over $50 . Its amazing to see our students showing such caring initiative and doing things for others!

HOLY WEEK

This Sunday we celebrate Palm Sunday, the day we remember the day Jesus entered Jerusalem where people welcomed Him with joy, waving palm branches and shouting “Hosanna!” It was like a parade for a king—but Jesus came as a humble and peaceful king, riding on a donkey. This reminds us that true greatness is shown through kindness, love, and humility.

Palm Sunday also begins Holy Week, a very important time when we follow the journey of Jesus toward Easter. Even though the crowd was happy at first, we know that difficult days were ahead for Jesus. This teaches us that life can change quickly, and we are called to stay faithful even when things are hard.

As children of God, we can welcome Jesus into our hearts just like the people welcomed Him into Jerusalem—by showing love, helping others, and trusting in Him every day.

Please join us at our Holy Week Liturgy, led by the Faith and Social Justice Team, on Monday at 2.30pm in the Hall!
