Expressions of Interest for Term 2 Programs

Edendale Farm & RAISE Mentoring

We are very pleased to be offering our two highly successful and longstanding Student Wellbeing and engagement programs at Eltham High School in Term 2, 2026, and are inviting student applications for these programs. These programs have been fully funded by Eltham High School and Nillumbik Council and are free of cost to participants.

If you would like to express interest in either program, please email anna.jenkins@education.vic.gov.au, or complete your student’s details below:

Open House & Edendale Farm Program (Term 2)

10 students from Years 9 or 10Open House, Edendale Farm and Eltham High School would like to offer the opportunity for 10 students to spend 1 day per week at Edendale Farm during Term 2, engaging in activities aimed at building healthy communities, strengthening teamwork skills, engaging in hands-on learning, improving relationships, achieving goals and having fun.

Students will be closely supported and supervised by Youth Workers from Open House to gain skills in horticulture, gardening, animal husbandry, and the environmental and health benefits of local food cultivation systems. Students may have shown early signs of low motivation, disengagement and/or irregular school attendance, and may be keen to explore a hands-on, interactive vocational opportunity.

RAISE Mentoring Program (Terms 2&3)

15 students from Years 8 or 9We will be once again running the RAISE youth mentoring program in Terms 2 & 3 at EHS, for 12-15 selected year 8 & 9 students. Mentoring runs at the same time for 1 period every week at school for 20 weeks, across terms 2 and 3. Raise mentors are trained and supported by qualified program coordinators and provide all youth-safe checks before they can meet with any students.

During the RAISE mentoring program EHS students work individually with their own specially selected, trained, and supervised volunteer mentor; sharing personal experiences, working through various activities, and learning personal skills to equip them to cope with life’s challenges and offer an opportunity to develop the tools, skills, and resources they need to support their mental health, social and emotional wellbeing and engagement with school.

Further information about these programs will be made available in the coming weeks.
