Principal's Message to the School Community

Dear KPS Community

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable term break. Term 3 has started smoothly, and all classes have settled in well. Staff have been working on inquiring into the valuable teacher judgement data contained in the Semester 1 student reports and will be devising new pathways to make sure their students continue to progress in Semester 2.

I trust that our report format is informative, individualised and offers parents/guardians a greater insight into their child/rens social, emotional, and academic learning during Semester 1. I want to thank our teaching staff for their flexibility and hard work involved in preparing these valuable documents.

Surprisingly the data available to the school from Compass tells us we still have 12% of our total student reports remaining unopened.  If you are having trouble accessing the reports don't hesitate to get in touch with the school on 5422 1855 or at kyneton.ps@ education.vic.gov.au.

2024 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 29 July to Friday 30 August 2024. All families are invited to participate in the survey and further information will be provided on Monday on how to access the survey.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / caregivers / guardians who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school directly for survey guides in your language.

The survey results will be communicated to parents / caregivers / guardians through annual reporting. Last year we used the survey results to set targets in our 2023-2027 School Strategic Plan and our 2024 Annual Implementation Plan.

Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.
