Semester One Reports were emailed earlier today and can be accessed online via the nForma Parent Portal. An automated email containing instructions and login details were sent from no-reply@nforma.com.au and not the school. Please ensure that you check your junk/spam folder for an email from that address. For security purposes, all passwords have been reset since Decemeber 2023.

Parent/Teacher Chats - Thursday 18 July

As mentioned in our last newsletter, Parent/Teacher Chats will take place next term, on Thursday 18 July. The purpose of these chats is to meet with your child's classroom teacher, discussing with them, your child’s learning progression and achievement in Semester One. Your child's Semester One Report will assist with these Parent/Teacher Chats, which you would have received earlier today. If you have more complex issues or concerns about your child, please organise an additional meeting with the teacher.

A reminder that if you attended a PSG Meeting with Courtney Drough and the Classroom Teacher in the last two weeks, you are not required to book a Parent/Teacher Chat.

On this day, the children will finish school at 12.45pm and the first interviews will commence at 1.30pm, finishing at 7.30pm.  If you are unable to pick your children up there will be supervision provided by staff not engaged in the Parent Teacher Chats until 3.15pm. A separate Operoo form has been sent regarding this.  After School Care will be provided as usual from 3.15pm onwards. To book your child in to After School Care, please contact Camp Australia directly.

Bookings opened last Monday!

Australian Early Development Census (AEDC)

From May 2024, our school, along with thousands of others across the country, will participate in the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC).

The AEDC is a teacher-completed census (similar to a questionnaire) which provides a comprehensive picture of how children have developed by the time they start their first year of full-time school (Prep). The AEDC is an Australian Government Initiative and is completed nationally every three years.

Children don't miss any class time while the AEDC is completed, and parents/carers don't need to supply schools with new information.

The data collected through the AEDC is used by schools, communities and governments to better understand children and families' needs, and identify the services, resources and support they need.

AEDC data is reported at a school, community, state and national level. Results for individual children are not reported and the AEDC is not used as an individual diagnostic tool.

Some teachers have found that completing the AEDC made them more aware of the needs of individual children and their class, and that the data was useful for planning for transitions to Year 1 and developing programs.

Participation in the AEDC is voluntary, however the AEDC relies on all schools with children in their first year of full-time school (Prep) participating in the collection. Parents/carers don't need to take any action unless they choose not to include their children in the census.
