Welcome back to Term 3!

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays. It has been wonderful hearing about the fabulous things the children got up to over the break.

Life Ed Visit

We had Alisha from Life Ed visit to teach us all about how to be a good friend. We learned about positive personality traits and how to give compliments to others. The children discussed how it felt to give and receive compliments. At the end, we acted out some scenarios where we were being friendly toward others. Everyone really enjoyed meeting Harold the Giraffe and exploring what it means to be a good friend.

Literacy

This week, we have begun learning about Dreamtime Stories and are developing our understanding of descriptive writing. We are also learning about using punctuation to improve our writing. Students are experimenting with commas, exclamation marks, question marks, and quotation marks.

Maths

In maths, we are furthering our understanding of addition and subtraction. We have introduced word problems to students, and they have enjoyed learning how to solve them using illustrations to support and prove their work.
