Hello Everyone,
As the term comes to an end there is lots to celebrate and look forward to in next term.
Staffing
Tomorrow we officially farewell Matt Barlee as he takes on a new role at Corryong College, we thank him for being a part of our Sacred Heart community, the knowledge and fun he has shared with our students, staff and families and look forward to seeing him at combined sporting events in the future. We are excited to have Marie Nagy starting in the role as Year 2/3/4 Classroom Teacher next term. Marie is a great fit for the Year 2/3/4 Classroom Teacher role, she already has a great understanding of our students from her Specialist Teacher role in Semester One, 2024 and she has an excited bunch of students awaiting her, who cheered when they heard she would be their new teacher.
Amy Lockwood will be on leave for the first four weeks of next term. While she is on leave, many of the Specialist classes will be covered by Wendy Hodgkin.
North East Emergency Workshops
Last week our Year 5/6 students were joined by the Corryong College Year 5/6 students and Staff to participate in Safety workshops with Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police, SES and CFA. This wonderful initiaitve came from the North East Emergency Action Group who used funds raised at the North East Emergency Expo to put back into the local community by providing this opportunity for our students. The students were thoroughly engaged in the workshops and proudly shared what they learnt with staff and other students. Thank you to all of our local emergency services who led our students in their learning on the day, it was incredibly invaluable learning.
Parent & Carer Community Group
This week we held a Parent & Carer (P & C) meeting where we discussed many upcoming events and opportunities for feedback from our Sacred Heart community. This included -
Our next meeting is Tuesday the 30th of July at 3.30 pm in the School Library. All Parents and Carers are welcome to attend. You don't have to come to all meetings (1 - 2 a term), if you're available and want to come along for just one, you're most welcome!
