BOOKTACULAR Book Week
ABOUT
Booktacular is a week-long literary celebration held during Book Week. This vibrant event is designed to ignite a love of reading through creativity, community, and storytelling. Running from August 25–29 in 2025, Booktacular invites students from Prep to Year 12 to immerse themselves in inspiring workshops, performances, and interactive displays within the library space. This year’s theme, “Book an Adventure,” sets the stage for a packed program that includes visits from a range of presenters, authors, artists/illustrators, and performers. The week also features an exciting line-up of expo stalls throughout the library, community events, lunchtime activities, and more — all aimed at encouraging students to explore the world of reading, writing, and creating.
PROGRAM
P-12 COSTUME PARADE & PICNIC
When: Monday 25 August, 9:10 AM - 11:00AM approx.
Where: Front lawn (Fischer St)
Who: All P-12 students and staff. We welcome all families to come along.
Theme: "Book an Adventure"
Food and coffee vans will be onsite and available to all attendees at your own cost.

LIBRARY EXPO NIGHT
P-12 LIBRARY MOVIE NIGHT
Booktacular Book Week presents P-12 Library Movie Night! Join us in the College Resource Library for a special conclusion to Book Week on Friday 29 August, from 5:00 PM.
This is a free event, however space is limited. Please book a ticket (link below).
(Please note: students under 16 must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket).

Book Fair:
The Scholastic Book Fair also returns during Book Week! We will be open to staff, students, and the school community every lunchtime and after school until 4pm.
When: Monday 25 August - Friday 29 August (all week)
Where: The College Resource Library
Who: all students, staff, parents, and school community.
A reminder that we will be open additionally on;
Wednesday 27 August: open from 3:30 PM-5:30 PM at the Library Expo Night
Friday 29 August: open from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the P-12 Library Movie Night
2. Senior Book Sale:
Booktacular 2025 presents a Senior Book Sale run by The Resource Library in addition to the Scholastic Book Fair! Selling a range of senior fiction and young adult books to students and staff across years 7-12
When: Tuesday 26 August, lunchtime (1:20 PM -2:15 PM)
Where: The College Music Centre (Daya Building)
Who: all secondary students and staff.
BOOK IN A BAG PROJECT
Looking for a fun, cost-effective alternative to dressing up? Our Book in a Bag project is a creative way for students to celebrate their favourite book — no costume required!
Here’s how it works:
- Choose and read your favourite book
- Decorate your provided paper bag with the front cover
- Add 5 items that represent something from the book
- Bring it to the costume parade or return it to the Library by Friday 15 August
Submitted bags will be displayed in the Library during our Book Week Expo!
