NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC celebrations occurred over week one and two of term 3 right across our college.

We were fortunate to have visits from our KESOS Simone and Joyce. Over the week students made clapping sticks, emu feather necklaces and learnt about local indigenous culture through activities in connections and visits to the library. In addition, Colin Atkinson educated our students on traditional bush Tucker. We are looking forward to working with Colin on future projects across our college.

A further highlight of our celebrations included our smoking ceremony with Uncle Rick in our Indigenous Garden. Students across P-12 attended this event and were fortunate to hear Rick tell his story. Thankyou to Uncle Rick for making this opportunity possible and to Simone and Joyce for their support of the event.
