Please remember that we have rules and procedures in place within our carpark to ensure the SAFETY of all of the children and adults who enter the carpark. (see procedures below)

REMEMBER....

If the crossing supervisor is directing you to STOP please STOP.

Please cross AT THE CROSSING.

Do NOT to PARK in the DROP OFF ZONE so that we can ensure traffic continues to flow. (Feel free to come a few minutes later, so you can drive straight through and won't get caught in traffic- remember P-2 students are not dismissed until 3:15, Yr 3-6 students are not dismissed until 3:20)

To ensure that professional standards are upheld in accordance with DOSCEL and VRQA requirements. This following outlines the procedures required to ensure all reasonable steps are taken to reduce risk for those entering the school carpark and grounds each morning.

OLSS Before School Carpark and Pedestrian Procedure

STUDENTS WALKING/RIDING TO SCHOOL (includes adults accompanying students)

Travel along walking/bike path along Cowes-Rhyll Road.

Cross Cowes-Rhyll Road at the pedestrian crossing outside the school. -This crossing is manned by a council employed crossing supervisor 8:00am-9:30am.

-All pedestrians must follow the directions of the crossing supervisor

-Students must dismount and walk bikes across road

Walk along the designated pedestrian pathway inside the school grounds.

-Students on bikes must dismount and walk their bikes along this path.

-Students must remain on the pedestrian path at all times.

STUDENTS ARRIVING IN CARS- Park and Get Out

#Parents park car within the marked parking bays and walk their child to the school entrance via the designated walkways

#Parents and students who park in the centre car park walk their child along the centre walkway and across the carpark crossing. When the crossing is manned please wait for direction from the crossing supervisor

#Parents who park in the end carparks exit their cars onto the grassed areas and walk around behind the cars.

STUDENTS ARRIVING IN CARS-Drop off Zone

*Parents drive into the car park and then into the marked school drop off area, parallel to the school

*Car stops and student(s) exit car on side of car closest to the pedestrian path (parents DO NOT exit car)

*Students walk along the pedestrian pathway to the school building

*Cars MAY NOT PARK in the drop off zone, this IS NOT a parking area

OLSS After School Carpark and Pedestrian Procedure

STUDENTS WALKING/RIDING HOME FROM SCHOOL (includes adults accompanying students)

Walk along the designated pedestrian pathway inside the school grounds.

-Students must remain on the pedestrian path at all times.

-Students on bikes must walk their bikes along this path.

Cross Cowes-Rhyll Road at the pedestrian crossing outside the school. -This crossing is manned by a council employed crossing supervisor 2:30pm-4:00pm.

-All pedestrians must follow the directions of the crossing supervisor

-Students must walk bikes across road

Travel east or west along Cowes-Rhyll Rd via the walking/bike path.

STUDENTS DEPARTING IN CARS- Park and Get Out

Students wait in the grassed area in front of the school for parents to arrive.
Parents follow the directional areas to park car within the marked parking bays and exit the car to collect their child via the designated walkways
Parents who park in the centre car park collect their child and then walk across car park crossing and along the centre walkway back to the car
Parents who park in the end carparks return to their cars via the grassed areas, walking around behind the cars on the designated walkways.

STUDENTS DEPARTING IN CARS-Pick up Zone

Students wait for parents to arrive on the grassed area at the front of the school.
Parents drive into the car park and then into the marked school pick up area
Students walk along the pedestrian pathway to the pick up area
Car halts and student(s) enter car on side of car closest to the pedestrian path (parents DO NOT exit car)
Cars MAY NOT PARK in the drop off zone, this IS NOT a parking area
