School Wide Positive Behaviour Support
Last Friday, the basketball courts came alive as we celebrated achieving our latest whole-school acknowledgement. With music filling the air, the ‘dancefloor’ quickly lit up with students showing off their best moves, sharing laughs with friends, and soaking up the positive energy. It was a great way to pause, celebrate, and enjoy the results of our shared efforts.
A big thank you to all our students and teachers for working together towards Right Place, Right Time. This achievement is the result of everyone playing their part, every day. And a special well done to our SWPBS student leaders, whose ongoing promotion of our school values, enthusiasm, and hosting skills helped make the disco such a success.

This term, our pop-ups have continued to offer students meaningful opportunities to get involved in positive activities during break times. These short sessions are all about encouraging participation, building connections, and adding some extra fun to the school week.
Here is the Term 3 pop-up schedule, with plenty on offer for everyone — from origami and comic creating, to drama, and science, there is something for everyone. We encourage all students to pop along to at least one this term and give something new a go.
Thank you to the students who have helped plan and run these sessions, making them such a valuable and enjoyable part of our school week.
We had a record number of pop-up proposals this term – over 50! Students can now put in their proposals for Term 4 pop-ups, at the pop-up box near the wellbeing office.

This week, BNPS is joining schools across Australia to participate in the National Week of Action Against Bullying. The theme this year — Be Bold. Be Kind. Speak Up — encourages us to empower students with the confidence, empathy, and language to recognise bullying, respond respectfully, and take positive action to support others, while taking a stand together to say NO to bullying.
Through explicit teaching and guided discussion, students are building the social-emotional skills needed to form healthy relationships, act as upstanders, and contribute to a culture where kindness and respect are the norm. This week also provides a valuable opportunity to clarify what bullying is — and what it isn’t — helping students understand these important differences.
The daily focus areas allow classes to explore specific topics each day:
· Day 1: Be Bold – You have the power to help
· Day 2: Be Kind – Small actions make a big impact
· Day 3: Speak Up – Become an upstander
· Day 4: Think Before You Post or Speak – Words matter
· Day 5: Together, We Can Stop Bullying – It takes a community
We encourage families to continue these important conversations at home — asking what your child has learned, discussing how small positive actions can make a difference, and reminding them that bullying is never okay and support is always available. The Bully Stoppers website offers practical information and advice for parents and carers on a range of bullying-related topics. The Victorian Government website also provides useful advice sheets on cyber safety, cyber bullying, and bullying. If you have any concerns about your child in relation to bullying, please speak with their classroom teacher or a member of the school leadership team as soon as possible. We take all matters related to bullying very seriously and will work closely with you and your child to ensure concerns are addressed promptly and support is provided.
