Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria
On Monday, we were lucky enough to be visited by the education team from Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria. The Preps were treated to a local excursion where they enjoyed a learning walk through the Buninyong Botanic Gardens. Preps learned about the different features of plants and used their five senses to investigate some of the special flora that can be found in the gardens.
In the afternoon, the grade 3's in our Ready, Set, Grow program were involved in activities lead by our visitors. They planted out some native midgen berry bushes into our greenhouse. Once these plants mature, they will be planted around the school. Our Ready Set Grow students will be excited to show people the interesting taste of the berries once they are ready next Autumn.
