Williamstown Campus  News

At our recent assemblies, we recognised student achievement in the Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) competition which focuses on the development of problem-solving skills through algorithmic thinking.  Special recognition to Spencer Tout who also received a certificate for best in school.  Students were also recognised for attendance and demonstrating our expectations consistently.  Well done to all students.

Safety first

In Science students learn about safety in the lab. Here are our Year 7s showing us they know a thing or two, wearing goggles and aprons in readiness for the “Spinning snake experiment”.

Ready to Learn

At the end of last term, we shared a resource checklist with students and families in preparation for the new term.  When students are ready to learn they get the most out of scheduled learning time.   Teachers will be checking in with students in the coming weeks to ensure they have all they need to set them up for success.

Term 3 is filled with a variety of events and experience to spark curiosity, develop new skills, participate in training, and sport and celebrate our school.

The Year 9s have started off with a week in the City and Year 9 and Year 7 STEM elective students will be visiting Wyndham Tech.  Selected students will be participating in the Maths Competition and Year 8s will undertake a workshop around goal setting and later in the term, Call Pull Shock CPR and AED Training.

As part of Bully No Way! Week we will be hosting student voice focus groups to unpack our recent attitudes to school survey results and Project Rockit will be presenting to Year 7s to empower them to challenge bullying in school, online and beyond. Planning is also underway for the campus Harmony Day on 25th August.

In amongst all the above, we have our College Production! All Year 7s are invited to a special matinee performance.
